Some very exciting, wonderful news that we can now announce. We have won a King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Created in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee and previously known as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS), the Award has been shining a light on the fantastic work of voluntary groups from all across the UK for many years. The award, which is equivalent to an MBE, is the highest Award given to local voluntary groups in the UK and is awarded for life.
Being recognised like this is amazing and makes all the hard work, time and effort that every one of our wonderful volunteers gives worthwhile.
A message from Ian Talbot the Chair of the charity
Ian Talbot, the Chair of the charity, said “ I am absolutely delighted that the work of the charity and it’s volunteers has been recognised as outstanding. I am constantly impressed by how community spirited our volunteers are and how generous they are with their time and skills, without which we would not be able to provide the community support we do. It is a privilege to be involved with such a great organisation and we look forward to many more years of growing services that complement our core community transport.”
